Learn
The Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream invites students and educators to find themselves in the American Dream. Students will reflect on their own vision of the American Dream and better understand the tools they’ll need to pursue their goals, including a strong education, good health, financial know-how, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
The Milken Center was my favorite part of our DC trip because it inspired me and my classmates. It showed us that we can do anything and choose our own American dream.

School Group Visits
Self-guided school group visits provide the greatest amount of flexibility for large groups or those with a busy itinerary. Self-guided school groups receive a welcome and orientation from staff to ensure you make the most of your visit.
Free tickets are required for every visitor, and chaperones are required for all school and youth groups. Print learning resources are available onsite to support your visit.
- Groups of 15 or fewer may reserve General Admission passes.
- Groups of 16–110 are invited to submit a group visit request.
We offer free, age-appropriate guided tours led by museum educators that introduce students to the exhibition through fun, inquiry-based learning experiences. Our signature Dream Builders program focuses on goal setting and pathways to success, and custom themes aligned to classroom objectives may be requested.
- Available Mondays and Thursdays at 10 am and 1 pm
- Approximately 60 minutes
- Typically accommodates up to 35 students (larger groups may be possible by request)
- Groups are invited to submit a group visit request.
Deepen engagement by pairing your visit with a hands-on workshop led by museum educators. Groups begin with a 30-minute guided tour of key galleries, then move from inspiration to action with a hands-on workshop.
- Available Mondays and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
- 30-minute tour followed by a 60-minute workshop
- Typically accommodates up to 35 students (larger groups may be possible by request)

Got a Big Dream? Join us for a zine-making workshop focused on goal setting and pathways to success using journaling and graphic organizers. Students identify steps towards the actualization of their American Dream. Their zines become their personal, pocket-sized action plans.
Learning Resources
The Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream offers a range of learning resources designed to support meaningful exploration before, during, and after a visit. Engaging and informed by Common Core State Standards, these learning resources help students deepen reflection, connect learning to their own goals, and extend the learning experience beyond the exhibition.
