Scroll

Sunday, May 17 | Doors Open at 12:30 pm | Stand Together Theater

Join us for the exclusive DC premiere of Summer of ’94," ahead of its national debut on Fox.

An official selection of the SXSW Film Festival, this new documentary captures the U.S. Men’s National Team’s improbable journey to the 1994 FIFA World Cup, and the history they were never meant to make. Through never-before-seen camcorder footage and new interviews with Alexi Lalas, Cobi Jones, John Harkes, Tony Meola, and coach Bora Milutinović, the film reveals how a group of underdogs with no league and no roadmap became legends, driven by a coach whose belief in them helped unlock their potential on and off the field.

JUST ADDED: After the film, stick around for a panel discussion with film director Dave LaMattina, former Washington Spirit player Joanna Lohman, and U.S. Soccer Foundation President and CEO Ed Foster-Simeon, moderated by Stand Together's Executive Vice President Derek Johnson. The panel will be followed by a meet-and-greet reception featuring our panel and DC United's mascot, Talon!

Free and open to the public, but space is limited! Perfect for youth sports players, coaches, and families. Presented in partnership with Imagine Entertainment, Stand Together, and the U.S. Soccer Foundation, alongside Yes, Coach!, an initiative to train and equip 100,000 coach-mentors.

Tickets to this event are SOLD OUT, but free same-day tickets may be available through a standby line. At 1 pm, standby guests will be offered any available seats. All guests are encouraged to attend the post-premiere meet-and-greet.
